The first H 12 1/2 footer boats were built in 1914 by Herreshoff Mfg. Co, of Bristol, RI, from the original design of Nathanael G. Herreshoff. The unique popularity and longevity of this design has continued for 101 years. She is still considered to be one of the finest, if not the finest, small sailing yacht designs ever created.
'Never Named"is a classic 12 1/2 built by the Herreshoff Manufacturing Co. Of Bristol, RI in 1924. Hull number 9039 in the Herreshoff Registry. The year 2012 saw a major rebuild by Tim Colon's Wood and Canvas, of Martha's Vinyard, MA. This work includes all new frames, new keelson, new keel bolts, new floor timbers, new deck canvas fore and aft, new coamings and trim, with multiple coats of varnish, fairing of the hull and four coats of paint on the topsides, new transom, and strip and re-coat bottom. New sail tracks were installed on gaff and boom, new hoops on main, and new mainsail and jib. And finally a new cockpit cover and jib sail cover.
One can see from the above work, this 12 1/2 is like new and should give sailing enjoyment for many years to come with only yearly maintenance.
Together with the boat and complete sailing inventory is a road-worthy trailer for easy moving and storage.
We highly recommend this boat for the Herreshoff enthusiast looking for a first rate 12 1/2 that is ready to go sailing in the spring.
The boat has been recently move to our sheds for more convenient viewing. The current owner is very motivated to sell this boat and wants all offers. Call for an appointment to view the boat.
