NORMA B has been in the IYRS collection of boats-to-be-restored since 2003. We are pleased to announce that this sleek and stylish gem has been restored at IYRS during the 2014 – 2015 academic year and is now available for sale. The first eight boats of her class were delivered to Fisher’s Island during the spring of 1932. Her design is long and lean with a tight inboard rig, inspired by the European square meter boats.
We believe that NORMA B was built in 1934 and is hull #1274. This restoration will include saving some materials. She is constructed of white oak frames with tight seams of beautiful mahogany planking; canvas covered cedar deck. When completed, she will be a head-turner everywhere with her long overhangs and striking hull. A set of new traditional sails is included in the sale price.
