See what we are all about:
"Marianne" is a 16’ wooden gaff rigged sailboat. The original design was by legendary yacht designer Captain Nathaniel G. Herreshoff in 1914. She was designed for yachtsmen to teach their children how to sail in the steep chop and strong winds of Buzzard’s Bay. The design is still being built today without any significant modifications from the original design. The vessel has an open cockpit with port and starboard seats that accommodate 4 to 6 passengers. This particular boat was built as a Fisher’s Island model that seller has restored to the standard configuration.
"Marianne" is constructed of wood, cedar planking over steam bent oak frames. It is reported by the seller that the only original wood left in her from the reconstruction are the sheer clamps.
