History
„Mistral“ was built for Mr. Theodor W. Little in 1938 by a design of L. Francis Herreshoff at the yard of Britt Brothers at the Sogus River in West Lynn, Massachusetts USA. The guidelines were to built a fast but comfortable schooner for the US coast waters in the typical Herreshoff style.
During the world war „Mistral“ was used as a US coast guard boat against submarine with to her noiseless propulsion and made US Navy history as first trainig boat which crossed the Atlantic under woman´s command.
The current owner revived the tradition, elegance and performance and so „Mistral“ benefitted from two major refits from 97-2000 and 2007 – 2008 in Canada and Germany which brought her back into brilliant shape!
