Midnight is a true classic cruiser that has been maintained in the best condition. Built in 1959, she has been in the same family for the last 43 years. As part of the family she has always been treated with inside storage, many upgrades, and excellent structural and cosmetic attention every year.
She is equipped with twin fresh water cooled Ford Industrial straight 6 170 HP gasoline engines, installed in 1963. Systems have been continually updated, including Raymarine GPS Plotter and Radar, Autopilot, and depth meter. Midnight is comfortable for cruising with two berths below, and enclosed head area, and a full galley. The deckhouse has two additional berths. The entire cockpit can be enclosed, too, including screens for everything. Structurally and cosmetically Midnight has been maintained in the best of condition every year of her life. A full survey was performed in the Spring of 2015 and any recommendations were attended to.
Midnight is stored inside at Robinhood Marine Center, after being in full commission for the 2015 season. We invite your inspection of this unique Classic Cruiser.
Please see the specifications pages for more details.
The cabin of Midnight is tastefully finished in light blue and white painted surfaces with varnished mahogany trim. There are curtains for the windows, and cushions are a light blue fabric. The cabin floor is carpeted as is the deckhouse.
Forward are v-berths port and starboard. There is a large shelf above the berth forward for storage of charts, and there are shelves port and starboard over the berths. Also, there are well ventilated storage areas under each berth.
Aft to starboard is the galley. A 2 burner alcohol stove, a sink with hot and cold pressure water, and an under the counter ice box are the galley amenities. There are good storage lockers for galley gear and food stores, including a custom mahogany holder for glasses and a paper towel holder, also mahogany.
To port is the enclosed head area, complete with vanity sink and marine toilet.
The deckhouse has a steering station to port, with a sliding and folding helm seat. To starboard is a settee that easily converts to a berth. The portside also has the ability to convert to a single berth. There is a drop curtain for the aft end of the deckhouse, and there is a complete enclosure for the cockpit, affectionately referred to as "the bus". All ports and hatches have screens, as does the enclosure.

MIDNIGHT was built at the Edwards Boat Yard in East Falmouth Massachusetts, one of a line of Sea Skiff models the yard built in 27' and 30' models. She was originally configured with a windhield and canvas"navy" top, and was brought to the builder in 1963 for modification to a hardtop and flybridge model. At that time the new engines were installed as well. She was further modified for cruising at that time with the addition of a galley and the settee in the deckhouse.
The current owners are the second generation to own MIDNIGHT since the family purchased her in 1972 as the third owners. He worked worked at Edwards Boat Yard summers, and began operating MIDNIGHT as a teenager. 43 years later, she is still a joy to be aboard.
Except for a few years when the owner lived in the middle part of the country and had her moved to the lakes and rivers of Tennessee, MIDNIGHT has been enjoyed either in Cape Cod waters or in Maine. About 2001, the owner's parents "boroughed" MIDNIGHT back to try out Maine cruising, and to decide what they might want in a larger Downeast vessel. They brought her to Robinhood Marine Center and had new electronics installed, new canvas with complete screens made and other items vital to being aboard for extended periods. She remained at Robinhood many seasons, even after she was given back to their son, and she was re-wired, engines removed, frames renewed as needed, and cosmetics kept at a premium. She was back on Cape Cod for several years afterward and stored for the past two years. A full survey was performed in the Spring of 2015, all items addressed, and the surveyor himself delivered MIDNIGHT to Robinhood Marine by sea, a testiment to his confidence in this vessel.
MIDNIGHT has always been "pampered" with the very best of care and provided with inside storage every winter. Her equipment, cosmetics and structural contition have continually been priorities, as MIDNIGHT has unquestionably been part of the family.
With the difficult decision made to part with their beloved vessel, the owners are seeking a new owner for MIDNIGHT who will continue to provide her the love and care that they have given her.
