This Twister 28 is in our opinion a well constructed and very attractive looking long keel classic yacht. Built in 1965, she is one of the early wooden constructed Twisters that are alleged to be faster than their latter GRP cousins. With her hull constructed from Mahogany & Pitch Pine, a Teak Superstructure & a glass sheathed plywood deck, this Twister 28 oozes the quality & class of this great marque & offers 5 berths, heads & small galley. This particular Twister was built by Hugh McCleans in Greenoch to the original Kim Holman design and she would appear to have been well looked after and is presented in very good condition. As you would expect, she has been updated throughout her life having had a new 20 HP engine fitted in 1999 and more recently a suite of Raymarine electronics including plotter, VHF & ST60 displays. She has a 2006 Kemp mainsail, 2009 Kemp furling Genoa & a 2015 Crusader Spinnaker. She is currently lying Portsmouth & is available for viewings.

This Twister 28 Long Keel Wooden Cruiser is a boat that has clearly been loved and cared for by her various owners. Originally built in 1965 and launched in 67 she has been continually updated & improvedincluding having a new engine fitted in 1999 that currently only has approx 500 hours use as well as a comprehensive recent electronics portfolio with Chart Plotter, DSC VHF & Raymarine Wind, Speed & Depth indicators. With her hull constructed of Mahogany & Pitch Pine combined with her teak superstructure, this yacht oozes the styling and class of a true classic that is not only attractive to look at, but also a nippy and surprisingly practical cruiser. Below decks, she is bright & quite spacious with upto 5 berths, a separate heads, small galley & even a navigation station, all of which is complemented by the exposed wooden timbers of her hull.
This Twister 28 is a very pretty yacht with attractive lines that are complemented by her beautiful varnished woodwork throughout. Designed by Kim Holman in the early 60’s, the Twister 28 was made for a number of years with many models produced. However, it is said by many that the original wooden built Twister’s are actually faster and sail better than their GRP cousins. This is certainly a boat that will turn heads wherever she goes and will bring a smile to her new owner. There is also a 2015 Survey that was completed which can be available for interested parties. She is currently lying ashore in Portsmouth & is available for viewings through Aspire Boat Sales.
