The hull is constructed of double diagonal Philippine mahogany bonded with resorcinal resin and sheathed in 20 oz. fiberglass cloth set in epoxy. This type of construction is equivalent to cold molded construction of today utilizing a natural material which results in excellent insulation from sound and temperature.

Two very spacious staterooms with private en-suite heads including stall showers. The staterooms are ideally located, one forward and one aft, to offer comfortable privacy. Amidship the Atlantic 53 offers a 16-foot galley deckhouse arrangement which allows an out of sight galley without isolating the cook. The deckhouse settee converts into two additional berths, and with an adjoining powder room this Atlantic model will comfortably accommodate three couples or a family of six. Up three Steps from the deckhouse is the enclosed bridge deck with the center line helm and a companion seat both to port and starboard. There is additional seating for 5 or 6 persons aft of the helm. Down three steps aft is a spacious cockpit with ample deck box storage and deck hatches for engine compartment access. There is a fly-bridge with full controls and seating for two and the helmsman.
The full width galley is located forward in the spacious 16 foot deckhouse. There are household size appliances with a GE Spacemaker range and a Maytag 15 cu.ft. refrigerator. There is ample counter space with single ss sink with disposal and numerous pantries and storage lockers, a Delonghi toaster oven and Emerson microwave.
Caterpillar 3208 TAs at 375 hp each with Twin Disc MG 507-1 transmissions with 1.51 ratio were installed by Huckins in 1992. They currently have 1900 hours, and have been maintained with annual oil changes and other factory recommended maintenance. Oil analysis reports are available for many of the oil changes. These engines have always been serviced by Caterpillar only! A Norhtern Lights 8 KW generator was also installed in 1992, and the current hours are 955. There are two 16,000 btu reverse cycle air conditioning systems, one for the saloon/galley, and one for the forward and aft staterooms. A Fireboy FE241 automatic fire suppression system in the engine compartment was installed in the Fall 2009.
Faith is in outstanding condition and will withstand the most rigid survey. Her exterior paint is in excellent condition and bright work is in fair condition just needs a little love.. She is truly a "turnkey" situation ready for cruising.
