AVALON is a true Blue Water boat, and is equipped to take you anywhere your dreams may send you. The current owners have cruised the boat extensively, took a year off, and cruised the Islands of the Caribbean and down to South America. She is also a veteran of a trip to the Azores, as well as 3 trips to Bermuda. For the last several years they have been cruising the New England coast,Nova Scotia and the Bay of Fundy.
The boat has been upgraded over the years, and that includes a Yanmar Diesel motor in 1997, a self contained Masse Generator in 1999, electric wiring replaced, and a XANTREX Inverter Charger, a feathering Max Prop to name a few,
She is a shoal draft centerboard boat which is ideal for the Bahama's and the Islands, and sails incredibly well with her board down, Crusaders are considered to be one of the best racer/cruisers designed still to this day. AVALON is one of only five of this model built.

The master stateroom has an anchor locker forward with 2 doors giving it a large access point, and abundant space for all ground tackle. Aft of that is the large vee berth with filler, storage shelves above,and drawers below, as well as a hanging locker. The head is aft to port, with a marine toilet, stainless sink with hot and cold pressure water and a shower nozzle. The main salon is a traditional design with a center line table and a pull out berth to create a double berth. The bulkhead mounted bookshelves are perfect for holding magazines and cruising guides. The interior is varnished bright work, with contrasting white cabin top and horizontal areas, giving a bright and airy feeling below. The boat has been upgraded with four large opening ports aft in the salon, as well as six other opening ports forward giving great ventilation. The navigation station and quarter berth are aft to port, and the offshore galley is to starboard. The galley is equipped with 12 volt refrigeration, ample counter space, sink with both pressure hot and cold water as well as a hand pump cold water faucet for offshore use.
The Yanmar engine is situated under the companionway with good access, as is the self contained generator built in next to the quarter berth.
