"Moonlight" is a Hallberg-Rassy Rasmus 35 built in Sweden in 1973 and purchased by her present owners in 2004. She has cruised the Baltic, Netherlands and the Channel Islands, Scillies and France. GRP hull, deck and superstructure, pale blue non slip painted deck. With her long keel and relatively shallow draft she has proved to be a comfortable, seaworthy and reliable yacht capable of short or longer distance cruising, equally at home with longer passage-making or exploring creeks, river estuaries and harbours. Her engine is a 1993 Ford Mermaid Meteor 56HP diesel inboard engine. Prop shaft and seal replaced 2016. The Rasmus 35 was designed by the leading Swedish designer of elegant yachts of the 1960s, Olle Enderlein. 760 boats were made between 1967 and 1978. The design of the Rasmus 35 was in many ways ahead of its time. It was the first sailing yacht in the world with a windscreen which makes her centre cockpit very well protected. The hull is built in longitudinal stringers and tanks of fibreglass. The keel ballast is iron, moulded and completely protected by fibreglass. The rudder has a stock of 1 1/2" bronze to which is bonded a blade shaped in fibreglass. All rudder fittings are cast in bronze. Scantlings and workmanship in hull, deck, rudder and chain plates are all to the high standards necessary to meet Lloyd's requirements for a "hull moulding certificate". The accommodation features three separate cabins, each with two berths. There is a separate heads compartment and spacious hanging locker amidships. The main cabin features a large dinette (7') with lowering table, along with a cooker, sink, fridge and chart table/navigation area. There is an additional chart table in the cockpit under the windscreen, very useful for night passage making and short handed sailing. The aft cabin is a comfortable two berth "owners cabin". The whole interior is panelled in warm mahogany, beautifully finished and oiled, which along with the varnished cockpit, pedestal and who give the look of a traditional yacht combined with the spaciousness and construction of a more modern era.She was last anti fouled April 2017 and is currently lying ashore at a local yard to our brokerage.
