CONSTRUCTION: Hull planking cedar on oak frames, silicon bronze fasteners, mahogany trim, SS rub rail, douglas fir cockpit sole with engine access through flush hatch (no raised engine box). White hull (carvel) with spray rail. Red boot and blue bottom. Beige deck . Coamings and cabin house are varnished mahogany. Canvas/glassine cockpit enclosure (beige). All chrome fittings.
INTERIOR AND ACCOMODATIONS: Descending the companionway: there is a hanging locker to port then a spacious galley. To starboard: fully enclosed head with round SS sink and H/C pressure water. Starboard settee and V Berth with filler cushion. The interior is handsomely finished with white bulkheads and varnished mahogany trim throughout. Storage is provided in the many lockers and drawers throughout. All beautifully varnished mahogany drawers and doors. Varnished fir cabin sole and laminated beams. Ventilation throughout provided by six chrome opening ports and large opening hatch forward.
Beautiful douglas fir sole (Varnished) with canvas and glassine enclosure (Beige). Two classic walnut seats (100 years old) on custom stainless steel swivelposts. Two wooden footrests with varnished mahogany tops that open for storage.
COMMENTS: The Bunker and Ellis is one of the most elegant ‘Lobster Yacht’ designs produced. ‘Vera Lee’underwent an extensive restoration in 2008 including repowering. All of her systems were completely redone, woodwork professionally refinished and new electronic upgrades. All work was professionally completed to very high standards at a reputable boatyard in Maine. ‘Vera Lee’ must be seen to be appreciated. She is in exceptional condition and a true piece of Maine nautical history. Details of the restoration are too extensive to list but available upon request. Vera Lee has been lovingly and meticulously cared for.
