The Sea Sprite 23 Weekender is a trim but rugged daysailer-overnighter from well known naval architect Carl A. Alberg that enjoyed a 25 year production run under several different Rhode Island builders, most notably Clarke E. Ryder the builder of XANTHO. The Sea Sprite 23 is a typical Alberg design with narrow beam, full keel and conservative ballast to dispalcement ration and graceful lines. A true sailors boat that still turns heads when she sails into any harbor. XANTHO has recent sails including an asymmetrical cruising spinnaker, 5hp Honda 4-strk. outboard, two auto-pilots (1 as back-up), new battery, battery charger, solar panel, chart plotter and running lights. The Sea Sprite 23 is particularly stable boat great for getting novices introduced to sailing. She is very responsive under sail but also very forgiving to the learner who errs. This could be an Heirloom boat for your family for many years to come. She sails like a dream and is pretty too! Thank you for your time and consideration.
Down below, the cabin is light and reasonably airy with two fixed bronze ports and a overhead hatch with solar vent. Although best suited for day sailing there is sitting head room. The salon settees are 6'3"long and the v-berths are six feet. The portable head is stowed between the v-berths. The galley to starboard has a small SS sink w/ a fresh water pump to be hooked to the fresh water supply, there is counter space and storage. To port there is an insulated icebox and more storage.Just enough for an occasional "fun" overnight adventure.
