The Niagara 35 is a Mark Ellis design built by Hinterhoeller Yachts in Canada to a high quality finish. Dulcinea is a beautifully maintained boat with teak interior. She has benefited from excellent care by knowledgeable owners and she shows very well from her shining gelcoat to her clean engine.
The listing broker is very familiar with this boat. The prior owners had a custom built stainless steel arch and davits made to accommodate the solar panels and the wind generator and dinghy. They continued to upgrade all of the systems including new electronics, watermaker, ground tackle and much more. Please read the full listing for a list of the work that was done at that time. Those owners did cruise the boat through the Bahamas and down island.
As a result, the current owners had the opportunity to purchase this very nice and well-proven cruiser. The current owners cruised the boat for fifteen months and have now accepted a new job inland. It’s important to understand that this boat is ready to cruise, down to the start of a "spare parts" collection. If you bought a basic Niagara 35, it would take a lot more than the asking price to be ready to go. Please have a look at the listing and call with any questions.
Dulcinea is well-equipped with many updates and all the items necessary to make her self-sufficient including:
Reverse Cycle A/C & Heat (Brand New Unit On Order)
Radar, Chart Plotter, Wheel Pilot, GPS EPIRB, Etc.
NEW Interior Salon Upholstery
And MUCH More!

Many sailors feel the Niagara 35’s Classic interior is a near-perfect layout for a cruising couple. The key advantages to this unique accommodation plan are that the galley, head, nav station and berths are all convenient to the cockpit and nearly centered in the boat where occupants are least effected by motion. This layout also works well with guests aboard because you have two private cabins, both with direct access to the head.
In this arrangement, the forward-most area is great utilized as a workroom/storage room. There is a small seat across from a sturdy workbench that is comfortable and convenient for getting projects done. There's even standing room, if the hatch is open. It’s also possible to use this space as a short V-berth.
Moving aft, the main salon has opposing settees and a center, drop-leaf table. The starboard settee converts to a double berth. Both settee berths have removable, upholstered backrests and good storage above as well a large footlocker under each settee and lee-cloths for bunking in rough conditions. The table has a deep storage well in the center and folds up around the mast when not in use. A full length hanging locker with a bin underneath is located just forward of the starboard settee. Four, opening ports with screens provide light and ventilation.
Continuing aft, there is a walk-through galley to port and a walk-through head to starboard. The head has dual privacy doors allowing easy access from either the aft cabin or the salon. In addition, the head has a stand-up, hand-held, hot/cold pressure water shower with fiberglass floor pan, a stainless steel sink with storage above and below and a manual flush head. There is a wet locker just forward of the head with access to the macerator, deck wash down pump and raw water strainer.
You can enter the aft master cabin through privacy doors on either the head or galley side. Once inside, there is a nice navigation area with chart table just forward of the starboard single quarter berth. This berth has a full length fiddled shelf and varnished cedar strapping on the hull above and additional storage below. On the port side of the master cabin, you will find a 6’4” double quarter berth with white cedar strapping on the hull above the berth and additional storage below. Both berths have an opening port to the cockpit for light and ventilation.

This Niagara 35 is a well-built boat capable of extended cruising. She’s had knowledgeable owners who have taken care of her throughout her life. Both previous owners did the maintenance and upgrades needed for a boat of this age. The prior owners spent over a year and thousands preparing the boat to go cruising. If you are looking for a very clean and well-maintained boat in this range, then make an appointment to come see this one. You won't be disappointed.
