Black Shark was built in 1982 to a design of German Frers at the Royal Huisman Shipyard in the Netherlands. Royal Huisman is considered as being one of the world's most acclaimed yacht builders with a highly respected reputation for building aluminum sailing and motor yachts. Black Shark was built as a near sister hull of the well-known Flyer I, who won the Whitbread around the world race in 1981/1982.
Her luxury interior is by designer and naval architect Pieter Beeldsnijder. The vessel accommodates 6 guests in a double master cabin, two guest cabins with upper/lower beds, each with their own ensuite toilet/shower. Forward of the mast, the crew area has 4 bunkbeds for 4 crew who share a toilet/shower.
Originally called 'Belle Fontaine', the Black Shark is a beautiful and powerful cruising yacht, built of high quality marine grade aluminum. The deck is fitted with Lewmar winches, manually and hydraulically operated, rails and blocks are by Harken and Rondal. A tender is stored on the foredeck on its wooden cradle.
Having undergone extensive refit works in 2003 and 2012, the yacht is now in need of some care and attention to bring her back in top condition. This is reflected in the asking price.
Having had very little use during the last four years, Black Shark offers a unique opportunity to own a impressive sailing yacht with an undisputed pedigree.
She is available for viewing in the port of Monaco.
