Grand Prix is 47 foot sloop designed by Laurie Davidson (Laurie was the designer of the race winning NZ Americas Cup yacht and one of the top NZ designers) and built by Phillip Wilson (one of NZs best boat builders) constructed in Kauri on laminated ring frames with ½ inch tongue and groove and double diagonal Kauri sheathed in fibreglass. The teak side decks are wide and the cabin is low profile Grand Prix is in nearly as new condition and ready for open water.

The Galley was designed to cook in big seas with a galley layout similar to Whitbread boats.
There is an aft facing 4 burner Mariner stove and oven in a walk in galley with counters with 3 inch fiddles and two deep sinks with foot pumps for fresh and salt water as well as pressurized hot and cold water.
There is a small fridge and deep freezer and a large pantry, there is also a larger freezer located aft of the Nav area.
Under the sinks is the dedicated space for a generator which has been removed but the plumbing remains.
Grand Prix was designed for crossing oceans with 5 good sea births with lee cloths to make sleeping at sea comfortable.
