This is one of the best layouts Broward ever offered. On deck "day head" and Flush Deck design makes this yacht very easy to handle with pilothouse, galley, day head, salon, and aft deck on the same level. Huge fly bridge and full cockpit with generators beneath cockpit deck. Spiral stairs from aft deck to fly bridge. Ideal charter layout with crew forward, Pullman berth in one of the guest staterooms, and huge salon with all glass aft bulkhead, aft sitting areas and dining forward.
There are two Guest Staterooms located aft, accessed via a stairwell from the aft starboard corner of the salon, each with twin lower berths and ensuite bath. The starboard stateroom has a Pullman berth. The Maytag stacked washer & dryer and storage closets are accessed from the companionway between the aft guest staterooms and the master stateroom.
The Master Stateroom is forward of these guest staterooms and can be accessed from a stairway aft and starboard in the main salon. The stateroom is full beam, with king size bed and "his" and "hers" baths with adjoining Jacuzzi tub & shower. Also found are settee, vanity with mirror and stool, two large wardrobe closets, Mitsubishi 27" TV, Denon entertainment system, plenty of drawer and cabinet storage, night tables at either side of the bed with lamps. There is overhead lighting as well as under-berth lighting.
Continuing forward through a glass wall and a sliding glass door, the very spacious Salon features a large U-shaped seating with cocktail table to port, and barrel chairs and end table opposite. Two built-in wine coolers hold 8-10 cases of white wine and 4 cases of red at just the right temperature. A full entertainment center features satellite TV, Flat Screen 36" LCD TV and Sony stereo system. A stairwell in the aft starboard corner leads below to two guest staterooms and the Master Suite. Further forward is the Dining Salon with oval table and upholstered chairs to comfortably seat 6-8 guests with mirrored forward bulkhead, custom overhead ceiling light treatment, and L-shaped buffet storage along the windows to port and separating the Salon from the Dining Salon.
New carpet summer 2014
Further forward is the well equipped Galley with upgraded equipment and granite countertops. Twin Sub-Zero refrigerators (one new in 2002) and custom freezers built into the galley sole provide plenty of cold storage.
Additional galley equipment includes:
At the aft end of the Flybridge is a 3-person sun lounge with sunshade awning, L-shaped settee for five, and triangular-shaped storage table. The aft spiral stairway leads below to the lower decks .
The davits are just forward to port and starboard, with a dinghy and wave runner forward of the sun lounge. The radar arch with Bimini top protects the flybridge helm station. Stairs on the starboard side lead below to the lower helm station. There is a isolated 12V system with it's own battery and charger on the fly bridge for guaranteed DC power to electronics. Forward Deck
Starting aft, there is a swim platform leading into the cockpit via a tuna door. The spacious cockpit can handle all the fishing, diving and swim activities, complete with tackle center, sink, live bait well and JennAir grills. Moving up the center stairway is the Aft Deck, fully enclosed and air conditioned with table & chairs, cushioned seating and hi/lo cocktail tables, full-length counter with storage, wet bar, icemaker and refrigerator and TV. A beautiful spiral staircase leads up to the flybridge deck.
This ingenious design puts the generator room beneath the cockpit allowing ease of access and better weight distribution and a more spacious engine room. Generators were both replaced in 2006.
Continuing forward, the lower helm station is on centerline. Bench seating for guests is behind the wheel. Access to the crew quarters below or up to the flybridge is via stairs to starboard. (See Electronics, Communications & Navigational Equipment section)

2 x 875 hp Detroit Diesel/Allison 12V92TAM engines just totally rebuilt at cost of $100,000 April 2015 !!!
This one of a kind, very rare model Flush Deck model Broward was built extra heavy with thicker plating and additional framing to endure the waters of the Pacific and Alaska. She was built as the "Light Horse". Her hull remains in excellent condition to this day.
Cosmetically the "Real Escape" is due for exterior paint. A wholesale paint quote from Lauderdale Marine Center is available for $124,000. (Half price) The exterior teak was stripped to bare wood and new varnish applied 2014. Once new paint coatings are applied this very spacious good looking yacht will continue to impress for many years to come. Current green hull shows no blistering but is fading. White topsides no longer hold a good shine and need to be repainted. The only blisters noted are around the aft deck window frames and will be corrected during a full paint job. Interior salon carpet is new in 2014 and the interior is in very good shape. The galley has nice granite counters and was updated. The lower stateroom are all very nice and require no refitting.
Accessed from the pilothouse stairs down to starboard is the large crew area forward and Engine Room with the yacht's upgraded engines and exhaust system. Access to the engine room is from the Crew Quarters lounge.
To port is the Captain's Cabin with a 3/4 double berth and two single crew cabins are forward. There are two heads and showers for the crew as well as three TVs.
This engine room is more spacious than any other yacht this size due to the generator room being located aft. Both machinery area show excellent maintenance levels by her full time Captain of many years! This yacht can drop lines and head to the Bahamas with no issues.
Almost every area of "REAL ESCAPE" had been upgraded in the past with a total cost of over $1,500,000 in refit including but not limited to:
Owner's and Captains personal items.
One of only two built of this rare and very attractive Flush Deck design by Broward Marine. The day head and overall spacious layout is a big plus for large families or charter use. Both main engines were completely rebuilt in April 2015 at a cost of $100,000 before her trip North for the summer. Her bottom just done at Jarrett Bay in NC April 25, 2015. This yacht is always ready to cruise anywhere. She does however need a new paint job on the exterior and is due for electronics upgrades. Mechanically this yacht is excellent. Both generators were replaced recently. This is a very rare opportunity to purchase the "REAL ESCAPE" mechanically ready for reliable cruising by her experienced long term Captain. The Captain has been aboard for 15 years and maintains the yacht ready to go at all times.
This is the only "House Boat Style" Broward FDCMY on the market worldwide. After she receives a newpaint job she will be a fabulous value and a rare handsome classic yacht new owners could appreciate for many years. This is one of the most handsome looking classic yachts you will ever find with huge fly bridge, big aft deck, and full cockpit. She makes and ideal live aboard or charter yacht.
Located in Easton, Maryland for the summer.
