Construction

SIGMA 36, polyester monohull, designed by David Thomas in 1981 and built in 1985 in Plymouth (UK) by Marine Projects.
The Sigma 36 is the bigger sibling of the successful one-design racer Sigma 33, which proved its seaworthiness in the terrible 1979 Fastnet storm.
The Sigma 36 is a pleasure at the helm, slicing upwind like a knife or flying downwind as a bullet.
This boat started it's life on the English Channel with short crosses and occasional weekend racing.
The current owners bought it in 2011 and brought it to Germany, spreading it's wings by longer cruises to the Baltic, Norway, around the Spanish peninsula and into the Mediterranean.
In 2013 the owners equipped the boat for long distance cruising and set off for a two year long voyage with their 4 children. The boat is in French Polynesia since December 2014.
