Holland or better yet, the Netherlands have built some of the Worlds finest yachts, and will continue to do so, period. The dedicated and extremely skilled Netherlands yacht workforce goes back generations.
It’s far far different than anything that we have here is the States. The Netherlands build the finest and most expensive yachts, if power or sail, today. No place on earth comes near to their quality, their beauty and style; and PRICE.
Builders like Jongert, De Vries, Feadship, and Royal Huisman. To Yacht Designers that rock the world with their skills and flare; Hoek, Dijkstra and Van De Stadt.
This Listing Broker had the privilege of sailing throughout the Netherlands. Sailing there has a completely different meaning and mindset figuring that three quarters of their Country is underwater and the mighty North Sea encompasses her shores. If you have ever sailed the North Sea, you know that it’s much different than sailing to Block Island from Cape May.
This brings me to our Listing. She’s a Trintella 42, designed by Van De Stadt (of the famous “Hawk”), and was built in 1985 but doesn’t look her age in any way. Why? Because she was over built, as stated above for much more serious sailing conditions and also as stated by a work force that is much different than the “stuff” that one sees being built today. The modern USA or European built boats of today is a throw-away clorex bottle for if a recycling bin was large enough, most of these types of boats would be moored there.
Not this boat. Timeless, powerful, graceful, and well maintained, with an incredible spacious and airy extremely comfortable interior, plus she’s proven for offshore sailing and is ready to depart to anywhere. She has had some major upgrades by her current owner; all within the last several years.
So, study the specifications, compare her to other similar voyagers, and if you are considering a powerful, offshore, very comfortable and timeless world cruising vessel, one that will never go out of style; similar to a Swan, a Baltic or a Nordic or Norseman, or any other 40 foot world voyagers, give “Glory” your serious consideration. She will not disappoint.

The Trintella 42 is designed as a wonderful offshore boat that is modern beyond it’s time. As soon as you go below, you’re struck by the gentle companionway steps that make it easy to move around in a sea way. The aft head is tucked to starboard right at the companionway where it is safe and accessible just like the Valiant 42. Immediately to port the aft cabin offers a wonderful sea berth right at the companionway in a very comfortable spot on the boat. Just forward to port is the U-shaped galley with a centerline double sink the refrigerator freezer outboard of the sinks. The nav station to starboard adjacent the galley is outboard facing and accommodates an ocean chart. It is really nice to be able to spread out a chart on the chart table. The salon is pretty ingenious with a large u-shaped dinette to port and a curved settee to starboard. The amazing part is that the table can extend across the whole salon so you can easily seat eight or even more if you would like to have a thanksgiving dinner aboard. There is cabinetry outboard as well as stowage. Forward of the main bulkhead the master cabin has a big Pullman berth to port with drawers and storage under. There is a settee to starboard with a large hanging locker at the forward end. Forward is the head and shower all Formica for easy maintenance. It is a really wonderful layout that gives you a lot of boat in 42 feet.
