Vessel Walkthrough
This is a Grand Banks 42 Classic in excellent condition with all of the options which make for a flexible layout to accomodate two couples in private staterooms with heads separated by a common salon with ample room and amenities for cruising in any weather condition hot or cold.
Starting forward is the Guest Stateroom featuring a vee berth with two opening ports and a large overhead hatch for ventilation when the air conditioner is not in use. There are 6 drawers and a teak lined hanging locker that provide more than adequate storage. The Guest Head is opposite the hanging locker and features a generous vanity with sink and H&C pressure water, en-suite shower , and a separate sump and pump. There is good stowage in 1 drawer and 2 lockers in the head as well. Just aft and behind the steps there is a "crawl in" engine room access panel. The forward stateroom can be provided privacy via a sliding companionway hatch and door.
Up three steps from the vee berth are the Galley, Main Salon, and Lower Helm Station. Forward and to port is the galley. Opposite and to starboard is the lower helm. Aft of the helm is a dry bar with glass and bottle storage atop a built in U-line ice maker. There is an L-settee with teak drop leaf table and 2 Grand Banks chairs. At the aft end of the settee is a 16,000 BTU Air Conditioning system. The Air con system is aided by wooden blinds and sunshade screens which snap onto the windows from the outside. There are also fwd window covers and side door covers which also serve to protect the interior of Golden Burmese Teak where American Marine (s) Pte,Ltd. made liberal use of "TImbertone" semi gloss teak oil.
Opposite the L-settee in the aft port corner is the Grunert freezer with the TV on top. A bench settee runs forward between the freezer cabinet and the portside entry door. There are drop in cushions that turn this settee into a full length single berth.
Continuing aft and down three steps is the Master Stateroom featuring the optional double and twin berth arrangement. There are drawers under both of the berths, and a 6 drawer bureau between the berths below the aft companionway. The Owner's head is forward of the double berth on the starboard side with a Vacuflush marine toilet,a large vanity and mirror, and ensuite shower with teak grating on the sole. There is a full size mirror between the head door and the steps up to the salon. To port of these steps is a large double hanging locker with louvered doors for good ventilation.
On the port side there are two large hanging lockers and inside this assembly built into the woodwork is located another Air Conditioning system.

Broker Comments
Penultimate is a classic GB 42 with recent upgrades making here a prime candidate and good consideration for many years of dependable cruising comfort. She is at her best in inland and coastal cruising. Her recently serviced mechanical, electrical, air con systems, navigation equipment, anchoring upgrades, dinghy and 4 stroke outboard, decks, hull, teak safety rails, fiberglass, mast, interior and engine room paint put her at the top level of physical condition. She is kept stored out of the water in a building in Trappe Maryland unless she is cruising or returning from cruising where she has a slip in Oxford,Md. Penultimate departed Trappe, Md in mid May 2013 and Oxford in Mid May 2013 on a cruise which took her to Nantucket and back. She spent part of the summer in Newport,R.I. and New London,Ct at her Northern cruising area. Penultimate returned to the Chesapeake in Sept 2013 for annual fall maintenance prior to the Trawlerfest in Baltimore,Md and Boat Show in Annapolis,Md after which she returned to Oxford and was stored in a building in early November. She is ready to go!
As of December 2013 Photos of her covering these listing details will be uploaded representing her 2014 condition in early January. She can be seen by appointment by calling John Shannahan 410-924-3258 (cell) or the Oxford Yacht Agency office at Dickerson Harbor 410-822-8556 during normal working hours Mon-Friday. Closed 12-1 lunch hour.
