Her name is derived from the Wawenoc indian who once lived along the Penobscot shore area. They were often referred to as "People of the Bay"!
Wawenoc has had several major upgrades since 2004, including an awlgripped hull, a new Westerbeke 44 Boc engine in 2010, and the addition of a Monitor windvane in 2004. Complete with two helm stations, wheel steering in the cockpit, bulkhead mounted steering station below in the pilot house. This steering station is complimented with a working chart table and an array of navigational instruments.
The Corbin 39 Pilothouse have proven to be an outstanding cruising boat with long distance capabilities due to her good, kindly sea manners. She can be single handled.
