Patti J is a Defever Classic 50 Offshore Cruiser that was purchased by the sellers in 2006. She first came to the Great Lakes from South Florida in year 2001 with a home port of Bay City, MI. The current owner continued their use after purchase in Bay City until 2012 until brought to the Northern Michigan area. Patti J sleeps 8 persons in 3 staterooms plus salon and pilothouse. She is a Classic 50' Defever Offshore Cruiser with a flushdeck motoryacht layout and a semi-displacement trawler hull. Each stateroom has its own private head.
The main level is arranged with pilothouse forward, galley amidship, the salon, and aft deck w/access to the swim platform. This level is carpeted in Karastan Wool Sisal in tan with green accents over the original teak and holly sole. All carpeting is bound and laid in place without tack strips for easy removal and access to the engine room hatches.
The lower level is accessed via a stair from the pilot house or a stair from the salon. This level is carpeted in Mohawk nylon carpet. The arrangement includes three staterooms, three heads, two showers, and the engine room. Generous storage, drawer and hanging locker space is provided and all lockers have automatic lights. This is the first Defever model built with a walk -through engine room allowing the entire lower level to be traversed without using the stairs. Access to the bridge deck is either inside stairs or outside ladder from the aft deck.
The Master Stateroom is aft. Centerline queen bed, 13 " Toshiba color TV / DVD w/ Remote, night stands, 11 built in drawers, head on starboard side with vanity, ample storage and a large separate shower, larger hanging lockers on both sides and a storage/utility locker.
The Amid-ship "VIP" Stateroom features a centerline queen bed, 13" combo color TV/VCR with remote, 13 built in drawers, head on starboard side with vanity, ample storage, tub/shower, night stand, and double hanging locker on the port side.
The Forward Stateroom features a extra large double berth to port, large hanging locker, book shelves over head of bed and on starboard side. There is a head with linen closet, storage locker, large storage space under bed, 5 built in drawers.
The main level salon is aft and provides a comfortable and inviting focal point for on-board living. Features include a full equipped entertainment center, comfortable seating and indirect accent lighting. Below the carpet are large hatches which open to the engine room. With these access hatches and large double doors aft there is virtually nothing aboard that cannot be removed if necessary. The window coverings let in light while giving privacy while at dock. Electronics include built in 21" Sony color TV with remote, Onkyo AM\FM tuner, Sony DSS TV receiver and stereo speaker system and Bose Acoustimass-5.
Other salon features include: (2) wicker/rattanend tables, 7ft leather sofa, 2 large floor to ceiling silk bamboo trees and 1 lamp is an elephant of hand carved teak with leather lampshade in addition to two other lamps. Window coverings are pleated cellular energy saver blinds and the doors have silk-tab-top curtains on bamboo rod.
The galley is amidships and includes a 19 cubic ft Kenmore side by side refrigerator/freezer with ice and water through door, Sharp carousel microwave oven, 30" Maytag range with 4 burner ceramic glass cooktop and self cleaning convection oven, Cuisinart coffee maker. The galley provides ample working and counter space and opens to the salon for ease of conversing with friend and family. Extensive storage includes (3) drawers under bridge stairway for dishes, and glassware. 2 large pantry drawers. Counters are off white laminate. Garbage is put through a square hatch in the counter top and then removed from an outside door on the side-deck. There is also a Kitchen Aide insta-hot water system.
The nicely decorated pilothouse includes a well-equipped helm station, an L-Shaped settee, (2) bar stools and a dining table which easily seats 6. The settee is convertible into an extra or watch berth. Ample surface is provided for chart work and there is extensive storage that includes 3 chart drawers, two file cabinet drawers and storage under the settee foot rest and the dash.
