New to the market is this well kept, 1989 Luhrs 38 Convertible re-powered by Twin 2003/2004 Caterpillar 3208 Diesel inboards with just 600 hours since major overhaul.
The Tournament 380 is a handsome convertible with a classic sportfish profile. She's built on a beamy deep-V hull designed with generous flare at the bow. The half-tower is standard, and her tournament-style fly- bridge and the large cockpit with molded tackle centers will satisfy the demands of most serious, anglers. Inside, the original two-stateroom interior was arranged with the galley to port on the salon level. Storage is excellent, and the head compartment is very large.
Excerpt from PowerBoat Guide, 2015 edition by Ed McKnew:
"A popular model for many years, the Luhrs 380 Convertible (called the 40 Convertible in 1999–2003, and the 38 Convertible in 2004–08) delivered an impressive mix of solid construction, cutting-edge styling, and—during her production years—a very competitive price. She rides on a conventional modified-V hull with generous flare at the bow and balsa coring in the hullsides. A large cockpit with molded tackle centers provides a stable fishing platform, and the spacious interior was offered in several two-stateroom configurations, all featuring a spacious main salon with convertible sofa to port and the galley forward, a large master stateroom forward, and a port guest cabin with over/under single berths. The double-entry head has a separate stall shower. The 380/40/38 came with a long inventory of standard equipment including air conditioning, generator, rocket launchers, bait well, and in-deck fish boxes..."
