Staysail schooner "Samsara I” with a bowsprit, counter stern and stepped curved sheer on deck. Designed by Herreshoff and is an absolute Classic!
Its hull is painted white with black boot top. The pilothouse has windows with timber trim around and is also painted white. The bulkwarks are bare teak and a flush deck is laid teak. There are white masts and booms with a large cockpit, with steering wheel and stainless steel tube Targa at stern. Sunshades and joining bimini cover this area. The accommodation consists of a crew cabin forward accessed from the deck with a berth to port and head and shower to starboard, a workbench and storage lockers forward. A dividing bulkhead follows with the main stateroom, double berth and storage cupboards. There is an access door to a large bathroom, with head and shower. To port of this is double berth cabin. Aft of these rooms is a large storage area with washer/dryer. To starboard is a navigation area with four steps up to pilothouse and a shaped galley to port and a dinette to starboard.
Aft is a very large cockpit with a central helm station and settees on all three sides. The bimini is a substantial S/S structure including tender davits.
The fitout is predominantly timber of several varieties all clear finished and all carried out to a very high standard. Leather lounges are fitted to the main saloon.
