Undoubtedly one of the finest cruising yachts on the market today... fully EQUIPPED, ready to GO! A very limited number of the real Kelly Peterson 46 sailboats were built in the Queen Long Yard. “Esprit” is hull #30, the very last one of this model to be built.
The current & only second owners have sailed her over 56,000 blue water miles, completed a circumnavigation in 2013, and she is so ready to go around again. The first owner raced her in such prestige races as the “Transpac Race” and “Newport to Ensenada Race.” Esprit is truly a classic blue water sailing vessel, which has been extensively refitted and upgraded.
This Kelly Peterson 46 is extremely well equipped for blue water cruising, including thousands of dollars of spare parts and tools. Between 2007 & 2008 she underwent an extensive major refit in New Zealand. In total, over US$ 100,000 were spent. The works included:

This magnificent yacht offers the performance one expects from the three-time America's Cup winning designer. A pioneer in performance cruising design, this model was drawn exclusively for Jack Kelly Yachts by Doug Peterson. Doug Peterson is the world famous naval architect who designed the New Zealand America's Cup boat “Black Magic” in 1995. The Kelly Peterson 46 is a longer and much upgraded version of the Kelly Peterson 44, which has been rated #6 by Cruising World as one of the greatest Production Monohulls of all time. In many of the world's major cruising ports you will still see one of the 200 Kelly Peterson 44's.
Formosa, the yard that built the Kelly Peterson 44's, then moved onto an extended version, but reportedly cut out Doug Peterson and certainly Jack Kelly. These are not genuine Kelly Peterson 46's, and are priced much less because of the low build quality and inferior characteristics of materials used.
Kelly Peterson 46's were designed to be tough, and Esprit has proven to be safe under all sailing conditions. She has the perfect cruising layout. The galley is set up for cooking underway and the dinette is practically arranged for cruising or living aboard. The beautifully finished teak salon is a perfect balance of functionality, convenience and comfort. It features beautifully varnished teak louvered cabinets and shelves and abundant storage. Sleeping berths accommodate 7, and there is even a workshop with a work bench and a vise.
Over 20 opening ports and hatches below deck ensure superior ventilation and light.
