Fistral is a blue water custom liveaboard cutter rigged sloop with all the comforts of a long range cruising yacht. She was custom built to the owner’s specification in the Ta Yang yard in Taiwan in 1990/1991. The Tayana 55 is admired as among the best large centre cockpit long range yachts for their strength and seaworthiness. This fine example features a large saloon with a bar, a feature copied into many later boats. Forward is a well appointed single berth to port and a twin bunk room to starboard. Both cabins share a good size head with seperate shower. In the bow there is a large sail locker and store. The galley runs aft along the starboard side from the saloon leading to the comfortable and spacious full beam master aft cabin with ensuite head and separate shower. A soundproof door on the forward side of the shower compartment leads to the walk in engine room and workshop with generator and washing machine.
On deck there are 8 winches including oversize sheet winches to handle her staysail cutter rig and multipurpose spinnaker which is in a sock. Aft of the centre cockpit is a large open deck with sun pads and davits to handle the Avon RIB with 15 horsepower Yamaha outboard. At the stern there is an extra long boarding ladder incorporated into the pushpit as well as two seats. The fully laid teak decks are glued down to avoid issues with leaks and contain 8 deck prisms to flood the lower deck with natural light.
This Custom built Tayana 55 is ready to go cruising with all systems fully operational. The owner has had it from new and is now ready for a different adventure. This boat is a must see and one of the best cruising boats currently available anywhere in Asia.
