If you know BOSTON WHALERS, you'll recognize this VERY RARE 31L as the most desirable large Whaler ever built! Few come on the market, and for good reason. It's amenities rival those of Cabo, Bertram, Viking and Hatteras, and its exceptionally high quality engineering, construction and finish are equal to boats commanding twice the price. Famed for its unsinkable hulls, Whaler's famous Unibond construction process is comprised of two fiberglass skins between which a liquid foam is poured. As the foam expands and hardens, it forms a single sandwich-like hull which is extremely buoyant with great strength and rigidity. Since brand new in 1991, this powerful and rugged blue-water fishing machine has seen only approx. 1600 hrs of total usage.

Whaler 31 L
The 31-L was a marked improvement over the original 31 producing superior performance and handling. The 31’s were made 1988 through 1990. Only 18 (?) of the 31L’s were made between 1991 though 1992. The base price of the last few were $345,000 while Boston Whaler was owner by Reebok. Whaler changed the prop shaft angle and engine mount location to improve fore/aft balance which resulted in better performance. The interior was also modified with a centerline master berth which was a much improved upgrade, amongst other improvements. The 250hp were upgraded to 300hp.
If you plan on purchasing a 31 Whaler diesel express, the 31-L is the model to own.
With her Cummins diesel power and 313 gallons of fuel, she will get you and your family to your favorite fishing grounds economically and safely. Like the rest of the Boston Whalers, she is unsinkable.
