"Findochty" is a one owner, fresh water and boat house kept Grand Banks 36 Europa. This sought after model has the two stateroom layout and has been fastidiously maintained by the owner and mechanically maintained by a renowned Ford Lehman expert.
This vessel is perfectly fitted and optioned for cruising our waters and has been extensively cruised to points including the central, north coast and two trips to south east Alaska. A typical summer included three months aboard. She came from the factory with owner requested custom options and has been continually upgraded. This is a very special Grand Banks and should be seen. She is in stellar condition, as befits a top quality yacht held by fastidious owners.
The GB36 Europa, hull #977, is an exceptionally well thought-out and liveable design. She features large clear windows all around, providing 360 degree visibility of the anchorage or seaway which creates the distinct feeling of being a part of the outdoors. The flow of space on one level from the galley to salon to cockpit is liveable, open and bright. The subtle protection from sun and the profound protection from rain provided by the covered side decks and cockpit is so comforting and rare in a vessel of this size.
Enter the the sliding door from the large aft cockpit, with built in cabinet and "L" settee and custom settee across. Note the GB teak yacht table c/w with storage and drop leaves. Forward to starboard is the optional helm seat and across to port is the U-shaped galley.
The U-shaped galley is fully equipped and very well designed. There is abundant storage and counter space, and everything is within easy reach. Note the opening window and overhead fan for ventilation, the proximity to the helm for making coffee underway and an arrangement whereby the chef is open to, yet separated from, the goings-on in the salon. The space is elegant and practical. Designed to cook, entertain and live at the yacht club dock or in some remote and secluded anchorage.
The companionway leads down to the optional two stateroom layout. Port is the guest stateroom with privacy doors and a double berth, hanging locker and ample storage. Starboard is the head c/w separate shower.
Forward is the Master stateroom with custom-ordered V-berth with ample storage including hanging locker drawers and shelves.
Guest Stateroom - a cabin open to the companionway for lounging, or close the double doors for a private cabin.
The side deck on the Europa is designed for easy boarding and for safe movement all around the boat. The decks are wide and teak clad with high railings, ideal for setting fenders, containing children, rafting up, fishing, and living close to the water and dock! The teak rails are maintained to the highest standard with easy to care for stainless stanchions and grab rails. The decking is in fine condition.
"Findochty" is well and simply equipped to carry its new owners safely and comfortably throughout the Pacific Northwest, and beyond.
The flybridge is spacious, with comfortable seating and room for a table and deck chairs for private dining and entertaining and a fully featured helm. Note the excellent storage and the new fold down mast, designed to clear boathouse.
