With over 120 built, the Viking 50 has an unsurpassed reputation for seaworthiness, speed, and a dry ride. This exceptional high quality and well-proportioned sport fisherman has angular good looks and performs well as is common to all modern Viking designs. Perhaps considered small by current tournament-boat standards, she is full-sized in terms of features and performance as are all Vikings having been designed and built for over 50 years by Pat Healey and the Wilson family of boat builders.
One of the fastest boats in her class, her twin 820hp, 10 cylinder MANs will deliver a cruising speed of about 26 knots with a top speed of 30 knots and are recognized as being exceptionally strong long-life engines.
The cockpit features include a huge in-deck fish box, bait station with sink, and a fighting chair with rocket launchers. The wide side decks safely lead deck hands to the massive foredeck and anchor platform. The bridge layout is superb with bench seating for 8 and two comfortable full sized helm chairs. The stand-up engine room is accessed directly from the cockpit with good outboard access.
The yachts' interior design is the preferred 3 stateroom layout with a luxurious master cabin amidship where the ride is best. The VIP guest cabin has ensuite access to the guest head and all berths are at least 7' in length and able to accommodate the tallest. The salon layout is perfect for entertaining while keeping track of children and the galley is completely open to the dining and salon areas and without any steps.
A few years ago, the yacht received an extensive refit of the interior and many updates have been supported with an open checkbook including Elite wall coverings, granite counter tops for the galley, salon and heads. Also many other upgrades include an Onan 15KW generator, underwater lighting and new plumbing. Just added in 2018, a new Hotpoint 14.6 cu. ft. refrigerator with a large top freezer and a 40" flat screen HD TV. The yachts' bottom was recently barrier coated against osmosis with fresh antifouling paint and both engines and generator were serviced in the Spring of 2016.
Undoubtedly this yacht is a "must see" and you will come away from your visit impressed with the remarkable condition and upgrades of this well maintained tournament yacht that would be just as suitable for either general entertaining or memorable family outings.
