The Carver 356 is a fantastic 2 cabin, 2 head layout with overnight accommodations for 6 adults. You enter the interior down through the sliding companionway door on the aft deck into the salon. The main salon takes advantage of the full beam and offers large windows all around adding to the open feeling of the boat. There are venetian style blinds on the side windows and covers for the forward windows for privacy. There is a large L-shaped sofa to port with built in entertainment center and movable barrel seating to starboard.
The dinette is located down one step from the main salon on the starboard side of the boat. There is plenty of room for 4 adults in booth style seating. The table drops down and converts into a berth which sleeps two comfortably. Across to port is the nicely equipped galley. Galley features include:
The master cabin is very spacious and located aft of the main salon. The cabin features a queen sized bed to starboard with built in night stand with drawer storage and multiple hanging lockers throughout. There is plenty of light from the large windows with blinds for privacy. Ventilation is provided by the opening aft window. To port is the large en-suite head with Vacuflush toilet, vanity with mirror and sink, and separate stall shower.
The guest cabin is located forward of the galley. The cabin features an angled double berth with drawer storage underneath and separate hanging locker. There are opening ports on both sides of the cabin for light and ventilation as well as an overhead opening hatch which doubles as an exit if needed. There is an adjoining head with Vacuflush toilet, vanity with mirror and sink, and shower which is accessible from the main cabin.
Boarding the 356 is easy via the swim platform which features a large storage locker and davit system for the dinghy. Walking up the built in steps, you have immediate access to the large covered aft deck. This space features a hard top with full isinglass enclosure, sink, ice maker, refrigerator, access to the flybridge, sliding door access to the interior, and twin wing door access to the forward deck.
The flybridge offers excellent viewing both fore and aft for easy maneuverability and is enclosed with a bimini style top and full isinglass. The helm is nicely laid out with a complete set of instrumentation and controls. Bridge seating is provided by an individual pilot seat and dual co-pilot seat at the helm with bench style seating forward for additional guests. There are full covers for the seats as well as the helm.
The foredeck is accessible via the wing doors from the aft deck on both the port and starboard sides. There is a stainless steel bow rail which runs the full length of the deck and features boarding gates on both sides. There are two sunpads forward with covers for relaxing upfront. At the bow there is a molded in bow pulpit with anchor roller and windlass with foot controls.
