The Luhrs 290 Open is a heavily built inboard express whose aggressive styling, spacious cockpit, and comfortable interior made her a top seller during much of the 1990s. Built on a modified-V hull with cored hullsides and a flared bow, the wide 11'6" beam of the 290 creates one of the more expansive deck and cabin layouts available in a boat this size. A centerline helm provides excellent sightlines in all directions. Standard features include a molded bow pulpit, in-deck fish boxes, livewell, transom door, raw-water washdown, trim tabs, transom fish/storage box, built-in tackle drawers, gunnel rod holders, cockpit rod storage, bait prep station, cockpit bolsters, and cockpit lights. A tower was standard, and the bridgedeck lifts electrically for engine access.
