Sidewinder is a tough built 41’ Maxweld jet drive catamaran offering a remarkably fast and stable ride. Last used as a work-boat on the Slope, she would definitely do well in transport, charter/commercial fishing, construction, or similar applications. The vessel has gone through 90% of the inspection process (additional bulkheads, new wiring, etc.) which allows future owners the option to expand her economic potential and greatly increase her value. She comes with the unique benefit of only having a 25” draft allowing her the versatility to run rivers as well as open water. The jet drives are less prone damage and generally require less maintenance then out-drives, reducing the economic loss from potential down time.
Sidewinder comes with a fully enclosed spacious and comfortable cabin that offers passengers excellent views. The interior is well appointed with upgraded upholstery and sound absorbing carpeted walls and bulkheads. She is kept warm and dry by a Wallas forced air heat. There are 5 bunks port side that are individually removable, which could be switched out for roomy seating, depending on future use of the vessel. To the starboard sets a well thought out helm station which allows good visibility and easy access to all vessel operating systems. Just aft of of an upgraded shock absorbing helm chair, you will find a saloon table a comfortable wraparound settee layout. Passengers will enjoy the convenience of a private head with the availability of 50 gals of fresh water on longer transits, a full day of work or fishing.
There is a massive aft deck working area measuring 11' X 14' that provide plenty of room for cargo, fishing or deck work, all of which are made easier with her secondary aft deck steering station. Two large deck hatches allow full access to the high powered diesel engines. She comes with full length hand rail along the top of the house and welded aluminum side rails, making it easy to reach the fore deck and operate her heavy duty hydraulic anchor winch.
She is currently powered with Twin 635 HP Cummins and two protected 322 Hamilton Jets that allow her to dance across the top of waves at a cruising speed of 30 knots. Her Starboard engine has only 920 hrs. and her Port has a few more at 1374 hrs. The 600 gallons of fuel she carries gives her all the range you need.
She is equipped with a complete electronics package that is built around the Furuno GP 36 GPS with integrated Furuno FRS-24 Radar. The helm is set up for additional redundant monitors if desired. Her redundant communications package includes 3 VHF radios.
The electrical pack is set up for a standard 30 amp dock service with chargers to keep her battery banks always topped up and ready to go. A 1000 watt inverter powerful enough for tools, chargers or even a small microwave is available for AC power while underway.
The commercial safety package is complete and includes an 8 passenger Viking life raft, 2 rule 200 bilge pumps, USCG first aid kit, USCG life preservers, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, 2 USCG type AB fire extinguishers. Galvanized triple Axle #25,000 lb haulout trailer included.
Sidewinder is only available because her contract requirements were completed. As a commercial vessel she offers her new owner the economic versatility to be configured for a multitude of task as opportunities become available.
