The laminated hull construction consists of hydrolysis proof polyester resin, glass silk mats, roving fabrics, balsa core and multi directional fabrics. For optimum protection against osmosis, DEHLER uses a special ISO/NPG resin for the gelcoat and the first laminate. Supporting reinforcements are made of GRP and laminated in aluminum. A system of latitudinal and longitudinal reinforcements provide the hull's calculated strength. The floor beams, laminated into the hull, distribute the keel and rig forces evenly along the laminated construction. Internally the laminate is sealed using gelcoat. The hull is protected externally by an aluminum/rubber guard rail.
The deck is of sandwich construction with end grain balsa core to provide strength and insulation. Aluminum plates are laminated into the deck for all fittings. The hull and deck are laminated while still in the mold to create an integrated structure, a typical DEHLER quality feature. The ample anchor locker is self-draining. Under the helmsman's seat there is space for a life raft. The folding helmsman's seat provides access to the cockpit from the transom. A TPS non-slip coating is applied to all deck surfaces.
The combination lead/iron keel is fastened to the hull by stainless steel bolts into the laminated in steel floor beams for an incredibly strong and secure structure. The elliptical balanced rudder has a shaft of solid sea water resistant stainless steel with stabilizing framework welded on. The rudder bearings are self-aligning.
The seaworthy, self-draining cockpit is shaped for comfortable seating under way or at rest. There is a deep sail locker on the starboard side, and two lockers outboard of the helmsman's seat. The cockpit floor has an integrated non-slip surface. The seats are teak-covered.
Twelve hatches and ports, eight of which can be opened, provide ample light and ventilation below decks. The DEHLER patented companionway board system is self-stowing, a very clever and convenient feature.

Above decks she features a very powerful three spreader, keel stepped fractional rig. This provides a very powerful yet extremely manageable sail plan. The driving force comes from the large mainsail which is easily handled with end boom sheeting, solid vang and Dutchman flaking system. All lines lead aft to coach roof mounted sheet stoppers and self-tailing Lewmar winches keeping sail handling safely within the cockpit and within reach of the helm. Headsail handling is simplified with inboard Harken Genoa tracks and line adjustable cars. The aft swept spreaders allow for an inboard shroud base allowing for tighter sheeting angles.
The cockpit features a large Whitlock steering wheel, cockpit mounted mainsheet, long bench seats and stern rail seats. The hinged helm seat provides comfortable seating and swings aft to open the walk-thru transom and provide a swim platform. The cockpit is accented with laid teak bench tops and is large enough to accommodate the entire crew yet allows for everything to be within easy reach of the helmsperson. Wide side decks and inboard shroud bases offer safe, easy access fore and aft for docking and anchoring.
Below decks is pure elegance - beautiful joinery work, high gloss cherry veneer finishes and comfortable cabins.
The main salon is open and airy and features a large "U" shaped settee to port, long bench style settee on starboard and a centerline table. The table has built-in storage and two leaves that allow dinning from the port and starboard settees. With the leaves dropped the salon has a “living room” feel. The nav station is forward facing and features a large chart desk, cushioned bench seat and plenty of storage.
The full cruising galley offers all the amenities needed for life aboard and features two deep stainless steel sinks, propane stove with oven, refrigeration and loads of storage.
The owner’s cabin is forward and features a large double V-berth, two hanging and shelved lockers, bench seat, and plenty of standing headroom. A large forward hatch and two side opening hatches offer great ventilation and natural light. The guest cabin entrance is just aft of the galley. This cabin features a large double berth, hanging locker, shelved locker, standing headroom and plenty of ventilation.
The marine head is aft on starboard and features a stall shower and vanity with mirror and storage. A unique feature for this boat is the large storage locker on the starboard side. Over head access is done via the starboard lazaret lid. Walk-in access is via a large door in the shower stall. The locker is large enough for extra sails, folding bikes, dinghy and much more, all at the same time!.
