TRUFORM was constructed by using the DualGuard composite foam-cored construction and the patented SCRIMP© process. Her outer skin of Kevlar®/E-glass by Dupont greatly increases the strength of the hull against any damage caused by impacts. In addition, she has an inner skin of carbon fiber. This all provides a structure that has a superior strength-to-weight ratio, greater resistance to osmosis, and desirable acoustic/thermal insulation. The centerboard is molded composite with an NACA foil shape to enhance upwind performance, with a hoist pennant and dedicated winch in cockpit. Centerboard configuration offers minimum draft of 5’-10” with board up and maximum draft of 11’ with board down.
Topsides are “Stars and Stripes” blue Awlgrip, with gold cove stripe, white boot top and black bottom. Rubrail is painted to match hull with stainless striker.
The deck is one-piece resin infused using the SCRIMP© process. TRUFORM’s exquisite deck detailing includes laid teak decks and cabin house (all glued), varnished teak-cladded cabin sides and cockpit coamings; varnished toe rails, grab rails, dorade boxes and hatches; and many custom features including a butterfly hatch over the main cabin, hidden shore power cord inlet, and custom seats on the stern pulpit.
