This Marlow Explorer 72C shows like a much newer yacht than her 2003 Hull number indicates. She has had many updates and all major systems have been serviced recently. She has been in the fresh, cool Great Lakes for the last three years and has been stored in a heated building over from mid-fall to mid-spring. Any previous signs of sea water corrosion have been corrected. The Flag Blue awlgrip hull, varnished teak exterior and soft goods inside and out look great. Even the engine room shows like a much newer vessel. She has been a captain maintained vessel most of her life and it shows. She can cruise at an efficient 8-10 knots or run 20-24 knots when you want to get there fast. With 3 cabins with private heads, and overflow bunk over the washer and dryer and a separate private crews quarters aft she is ready to take the family and quests for extended cruises. This 72C has the same interior volume of a 78E.
The salon is beautiful and spacious. The U-shaped settee to starboard seats 6-8 comfortably and there is a large salon table. Directly across from the seating area is the entertainment center with a large flat screen tv and a lift mechanism. There are 2 comfortable chairs on either side, perfect for socializing with people seated in the settee. Furnishings are teak and cabin sole is teak and holly.
Just forward of the salon is the dining area. The teak and ebony table seats 6 comfortably. This area features lots of storage for tableware and linens and glassware in the buffet and china cabinet forward. Directly across from the dining area there is a full bar with ice make and wine cooler. This yacht has a very open feel as the salon, dinning and bar are all in one big open area. She feels like a much larger yacht than 72' would lead you to believe.
The galley is very well equipped with top of the line appliances and plenty of storage for housewares and food. It is U-shaped with beautiful black granite countertops throughout, creating a lovely setting for entertaining guests in the pilothouse.
Up three steps from the Salon and Dining area, the Pilothouse is another very comfortable area, complete with Stidd helm chair for the captain, next to a gorgeous teak dinette with Ultraleather seating for guests. The overhead panel has electronics, breakers, stabilizer controls, inverter control, tank tender and the vessel control center.
The master stateroom is full beam amidships, making it very roomy with maple and teak accented bulkheads and cabinetry and teak and holly sole throughout. She has an island king berth with drawers under the berth, in addition to a dresser and linen closet. There are port lights with screens, night lighting around the berth as well as behind valances. All lighting fixtures are 24V Italian and Danish, giving the stateroom a comfortable atmosphere.
The ensuite heads are spacious with vanities, black granite counters and several drawers and cabinets with shelves for storage of toiletries, linens, etc. The stall shower is centered between the his and hers heads.
VIP Stateroom, Forward Port
The VIP stateroom has a queen island berth with under berth storage, in addition to cedar lined hanging lockers. Flat screen TV and above berth reading lights.
There is a full head with separate stall shower accessible from the stateroom or the companionway to allow use as a day head. Outboard of the shower is a large linen locker. Both the head and shower have exhaust fans vented outside the vessel.
Guest Stateroom, Amidship
To port is the guest stateroom with side by side twin berths, cedar lined hanging locker, a nightstand and flat screen tv. The guest stateroom also has a private head with shower and vanity.
