You will see immediately that this is a very intelligent design and very well executed build. We are pleased to present Joy for All, a properly equipped and incredibly well cared for 2004 Farr 50 that is, without question, one of the most beautiful and modern high quality sailing yachts available today, anywhere. She was commissioned by her owners in 2004 who specified every upgrade and option to make her perfectly comfortable and safe and incorporated little details based on there extensive prior boat ownership. Joy for All's owners enjoyed several wonderful trips to the Caribbean and sailing in New England in the summers with an occasional trip to Maine. They have thoroughly enjoyed every minute aboard and now they sort of yearn for some land travel. Throughout their ownership these extremely knowledgeable owners have cared for her lavishing her with proper maintenance and upgrades including new sails in 2012 and new interior upholstery in 2011 and so many upgrades.
While she is as beautiful as she is comfortable, the sailing characteristics of the Farr 50 will be exhilarating to any sailor. The experience can be compared to driving a convertible Ferrari along the coast highway in California; for she is fast and sure footed. We actually had the pleasure of delivering one of these magnificent vessels from the Netherlands to the Med and we did it in nine days. The Farr 50 is easily sailed by a couple or even a solo sailor with all the sail controls in the cockpit and of course the hydraulic furlers! Her owners have sailed her short handed on Caribbean adventures over the past six years always feeling safe with watertight bulkheads fore and aft and push button sail control.

This center cockpit pilot house design sleeps six in three private cabins and has three beautiful bathrooms and two stall showers. It is the ultimate in accommodations with wonderful panoramic views from the pilothouse with its lovely wrap around settee that seats six in comfort in addition to the inside steering station. The large pilothouse windows create a viewing spot in any anchorage and a dramatic view of the ocean when sailing. The high quality interior with elegant joinery of African mahogany and teak and holly cabin soles is lovely and with the new Ultra Leather upholstery the effect is stunning. The custom OceanAir shades for the windows and OceanAir screens for the overhead deck hatches keep the interior comfortable in the tropics. There are plenty of opening ports and numerous hatches to provide wonderful ventilation
This vessel also has a lovely cockpit with wheel steering and she is every bit a sailing yacht, lest you start thinking about some wedding cake shaped motor sailor, which this vessel is anything but. As you enter the companionway from the cockpit, it is just three little steps down to the raised salon with the raised settee dinette to starboard with a beautiful mahogany table inlaid with a compass rose. Adjacent the settee is a pop up flat screen TV. The galley is just to port at the companionway with two steps down. It is very secure in a seaway and offers every amenity and some additional custom features that enhance workability.
The inside navigation station and ships office is forward in the pilothouse with wonderful helm seat with a great view. There is fully functioning joy stick steering and comprehensive navigation and communication equipment as well as the electrical panel and ships office.
Under the sole of the raised salon is the incredible mechanicals space with the main engine and generator, watermaker, and everything. This location under the cabin sole with hydraulic lifts provides incredible access for maintenance and keeps all the mechanicals in one tidy place.
Now let’s talk about the three cabins! The master cabin is aft accessed through the galley walk though. It is amazing for an center cockpit vessel in that it offers a beautiful sought after queen berth and an ensuite head with electric Vacuflash toilet, a vanity and sink and a stall shower. The master stateroom has two large hanging lockers spacious and a small desk and little settee as well as a beautiful storage area the full width of the boat at the aft end. For ventilation there are two opening ports and two ports opening into the cockpit as well as two opening ports in the ensuite head. This is a very nice private aft cabin that is especially comfortable at sea due to its location in the boat.
Moving forward from the raised salon with two steps down there are two double cabins. The starboard guest cabin has a double berth with adequate storage in two lockers and additional storage under the berth. It is a very comfortable cabin and offers a good sleeping cabin in a seaway. The head to port has a Vacuflush toilet, sink and vanity. There is also a hanging locker just aft of the head and very accessible for extra gear, tools, and spares.
The forward guest cabin has a beautiful centerline queen berth with an ensuite head and stall shower. There are two hanging lockers and additional storage cabinets outboard on both sides of the cabin. It is ventilated well with two opening ports and a large overhead deck hatch. OTHER & SAFETY EQUIPMENT:
The listing broker was privileged to have sold several Farr 50s with the BSI poster child for the Farr 50 among them. We sold this on in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, where the first owners had lived and sailed. After completion of the sale, we headed back to Amsterdam for her delivery to the Mediterranean for the new owner. It was a real adventure. After navigating the inland seas and locks of The Netherlands and passing through the last lock, the North Sea opened up in front of us! Wow! The North Sea and lived up to everything that every sailor has ever imagined. We beat to windward in about 25 knots for a rather wild crossing. Of course the Farr 50 had no problem with that. After turning to port and easing the sheets we sailed down the English Channel which is something like a freeway outside of the ports of Rotterdam. We saw the sun rise on the White Cliffs of Dover and sped on down the English Channel for the famed and feared Bay of Biscay. We surfed down waves at 13 knots past Spain and Portugal and slowed the boat down to reach the Straits of Gibraltar at sun rise on about the 9th day. After sailing many offshore miles on a great number of special vessels; we can say that the Farr 50 is without question, one of the best of the best.
