Additional Description
The 494 forward cabins have composite holly and teak flooring, one hanging locker, shelving, a drawer and storage below the bunk. Ventilation is through overhead hatches and opening port into forward sail locker. A two-speed cabin fan and excellent lighting add to the comfort of these cabins.
The forward cabins can easily be converted to one large stateroom with a large central bed by removal of the central bulkhead, with storage under the berth.
Additional Description
The spacious galley has ample workspace. There is a deep double sink of stainless steel with removable lids and mixer faucet for hot and cold water.
The laminated worksurface combines icebox tops with lids and a foldaway cooker top.
A three-burner stainless steel stove with oven has an LPG shut-off solenoid. The stove is fully gimbaled and has pot clamps and heat guard.
Behind the galley along the port side are ample cabinets for dishes and cookware
Three drawers including cutlery storage and door mounted trash receptacle.

Additional Description
The hull is hand laid-up GRP construction using multi-layers of glass roving and polyester resin with Kevlar reinforcements and a balsa sandwich deck for rigidity and insulation. The hull carries a comprehensive limited warranty against osmosis blistering
The interior of the hull has an Integral Grid Unit (IGU) giving longitudinal and latitudinal support to the hull and keel.
Iron keel
The deck has a molded-in non-skid diamond pattern, providing excellent traction even in the most severe conditions.
The hull-to-deck joint is chemically bonded with an elastomer sealant and further secured with a toerail.
Deck storage includes two large cockpit lockers under both helm seats, with access to steering system.

Mast & Rigging
Cast aluminum mast collar has support for foot blocks for halyards, reef lines outhaul and mainsheet.

Rope boom vang
Discontinuous stainless steel wire standing rigging. Fore and aft lowers. Cap shrouds and forward lowers are anchored to the IGU by stainless steel tie-rods. Backstay with bridle allows free access to the swim platform.
All shrouds have swaged-on stainless steel end fittings and stemballs. Lower ends are fixed to custom deck plates with chromed bronze double-screw turnbuckles.
