The Oyster 66 has a low centre of gravity keel and a powerful sailplan. Cutter gear is standard, which allows for a useful choice of sail combinations depending on wind speed. A pair of jumper struts has eliminated the usual requirement for check stays on this type of rig, making handling even easier. The 66 has an unusually large cockpit with twin wheels and easy access to the aft deck. The helmsman is ideally positioned, with excellent visibility to sail and dock the yacht with many of the sail handling controls within easy reach. Careful optimization by the design team has produced a hull with a sleek outboard profile but with enough volume to allow full standing headroom under the cockpit floor. There is sufficient headroom within the deck saloon area for a workable installation of engine and machinery under the deck saloon floor. The combination of these features has allowed a centre-line passageway aft with two double or twin guest cabins port and starboard and a large owner's cabin, with its own companionway to the deck, aft. The galley, which is open to the saloon, is placed forward of the saloon at an unobtrusive lower level with plentiful counter space and stowage. Opposite to starboard there is a comfortable settee forward and additional refrigeration and glassware storage. Forward, the Oyster 66 has two further twin and double cabins with their own head. One of these makes a first class guest cabin while the other is ideal for crew.

The cockpit is split into separate steering and guest/crew areas. Both cockpits have a clear central walkway through and between both wheels, giving excellent access from the companionway to the helm positions or to the aft decks.

Steering is by a bullet-proof Whitlock Mamba drive steering system, installed with twin remote pedestals, each incorporating a 1m (39”) diameter, destroyer type, stainless steel wheels wrapped in leather (2016). Drinks holder on each steering pedestal. Emergency tiller steering.
Ten berths in five cabins, excluding saloons that can provide additional sleeping space. Interior joinery finished in American white oak. Modern coordinated styling to interior joinery including: sculped fiddles and grabrails, “shadowgap” joints between joinery panels, solid, shaped teak and stainless steel grab handles, Oyster custom knobs for lockers and drawers, and chequer-board veneered floor panels (Refinished 2015), Larger than standard Lower Saloon and Galley with bulkhead further forward. Headlining in off-white vinyl fabric. Upholstery in Alcantara color ‘onion skin’ in saloons navigation area and aft cabins. ‘Porcelain blue’ in forward cabins. Avonite surfaces to heads in Brazilian Blue. Reading lights to all berths. Lee cloths to all berths in canvas. Hooks to all shower stalls for hanging wet foul weather gear. Ocean Air combined flyscreens and blinds on all deck hatches except sail locker. Metal flyscreens on all opening hullports and coachroof ports. Soft flyscreens to opening deck saloon windows. To starboard of mast with full-length settee, bookcase, pantry and drinks locker. Settee can be used as full-length sea berth with lee cloth.
Featuring a 4-sided wraparound blue leather settee to port surrounding a rectangular, expandable oak burr table with Avonite detail to provide comfortable dining for eight. Wine bottle storage in base.
In upper level to starboard with forward-facing chart table and dished seat, customized around the navigational equipment. Nav station electronics are flush mounted with navy blue, wrapped to match the blue leather throughout the boat. Drawers.

With a double berth offset from the centerline, queen size bed, large hanging locker port and starboard, abundant drawer and locker space. Custom seating area done at Hinckley in 2008 with forward facing desk/vanity.
Full length mirror with Avonite surround. The double berth is fitted with a high quality battening system beneath the mattresses for comfort, flexibility and ventilation (currently in storage. Private second entrance with oak treads on stainless steel supports giving access to the aft deck via a sliding hatch.

Entertainment electronics replaced in 2008 with all new TV’s. KVH M7 World capable sat dish with two digital receivers. Cable TV socket at stern for shore hookup.
