THE SUNBEAM 33 - A NEW DIMENSION OF YACHT WITH CONVINCING QUALITIES.
Highest levels of comfort and safety are the main features of the SUNBEAM 33. Already in the plan, the innovative thinking is obvious from the perfected solutions. The concept as a modern fin keeler proves itself with balanced sea handling and superb sailing qualities. Extremely stable course holding qualities and the best possible manoeuvrability are achieved by optimal flow dynamics over the rudder. An important safety feature is the rather high ballast ratio of 38%, which is above average for this class of yacht. The hull has not been built to a formula, but designed with the optimal hull form for a cruising yacht. The fine fore-ship and wide stern, give the yacht extremely good surfing qualities and a soft motion into a sea. One notices the traditional yacht building quality, incorporating advanced modern building techniques. This is obvious from the solid double shell hand layup construction with inlaid rovings and the use of isopthalic resins in the gelcoat. The built in rib framework of the inner shell and laminated bulkheads achieve extremely high torsional strength. Extra hull reinforcement in the keel area and the collision-endangered area of the bow, add to the safety features of the yacht. THE DECK LAYOUT: FUNCTIONALITY IS THE KEY FACTOR IN THE DESIGN. STANDARD SAFETY FEATURES ON BOARD. Non skid surface for safe movement on deck, extra strong deck fittings with metal reinforcement below deck, 6 stable stainless steel stanchions with double railings, laminated toe rails, two hand railings through to the fore deck, two mooring cleats for springs placed amidships, 4 large mooring cleats fore and aft, divided stainless steel pulpit, safety pushpit and folding rescue ladder. The SUNBEAM 33 is fitted out as standard with a tiller and long cockpit seats, but can be delivered with a steering wheel and a T form cockpit if required. A fixed windshield is available as an optional extra.
