HULL
The structural project of the hull has been carried out according to the acknowledged Classification Committee, which approved the project. This implies a further proof of the structure quality, that is already guaranteed by the most advanced techniques and materials used.
VINYLESTER RESIN is used for the first coats of the hand laid-up lamination below the water line on this 55 Custom Build Flybridge. This kind of resin is extremely effective in preventing osmosis thanks to its chemical and physical characteristics. Worldwide acknowledged quality isophtalic resin is used for all the stages of the hand laid-up lamination process.High quality PVC with outstanding mechanical peculiarities is used for main deck and superstructure lamination with sandwich core. Engine room-, collision- and bow bulkhead are in fiberglass with sandwich core. All other internal bulkheads are built with advanced composite materials. Keel is deep V type with 17° aft deadrise. The peculiar shape of the aft swimming platform has been designed to integrate into the hull a large tender storage with simple and practicable launching/recovering system.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - 55' Custom Build Flybridge

MAIN CHARACTERISTICS

? The whole system has been carried out according to C.E. rules in force at
the moment. The voltages on board are the following:
- 220 V a.c single phase, 50 Hz, for power circuits,
- 24 V d.c. for little users, signals, emergency lighting, electronics,
generators starter and radio station circuits.

? Electrical wiring is housed in self-extinguishing closed PVC conduits.
Electrical wiring is constructed with non flammable materials and with
proper cross section related to the use.

? Principal electric control panels are installed in:
- control room
- wheelhouse

? All equipment have ground junctions with adequate cords and braiding of
copper withproper cross section.

? The ground system is the following:
- ground system for machinery, sea water intakes, etc.. This system is linked
to aftzinc by means of two copper straps the length of the yacht;
- ground system for electrical circuits, which joins all control panel grounds
and electrical equipment grounds, is connected to independent porous plate;
POWER SOURCES

GENERATOR

? One 17 kW generator located in engine room with hour meter mounted on silent
block.

? Sound shield boxes, control panel and 24V d.c. starter. Predisposition for
remote starter.

SHORE POWER

? Two 220V, 63 A shore outlets placed on the transom.

? Alternating current power sources run to the main electrical panel in engine
room provided with voltmeter and frequency-meter for 220V power grid. Power
sources are protected by calibrated fuses and their connection with the line
is accomplished by remote control switches. There is one bar system only
that spreads current to all users. Each user is singly protected by
magneto/thermal switches.

BATTERIES

? Group of 24V leaded batteries of 200Ah., for lighting, signaling, power
source, little users and emergency. Batteries are positioned under the
staircase withexplosion-proof extractor device.

? Group of 24 V leaded batteries 200Ah, for main engine starters in engine
room.

? 24V leaded battery 100Ah, for generator starters.

? 80A automatic battery charger ?Quick? for service batteries and emergency
main engine starter batteries. 40A battery charger for generator starter.

? Lines for 24 V d.c. users, coming from main panel, are protected by magneto-
thermic switches or fuses.

LIGHTING SYSTEM AND OUTLETS

? Lighting system works with the following voltages:
- 220V a.c. for engine room lighting;
- 24V d.c. for cabin lighting;

? 24 V d.c. is coming from the group of service batteries

? Lighting of engine room is 220V by means of watertight ceiling lamps.

? Lighting of cabins is done through halogen spot lights. Each cabin is
provided with the following:
- lights on ceiling with controls close to entrance door and nightstand;
- indirect lighting under the beds with controls close to entrance door and
nightstand;
- reading lights with controls on nightstand;
- lights on ceiling in the head with control close to the door;
- lights on mirror in the head with control close to the mirror;
- 220V plug in the cabin;
- 220V plug in the head.

? Lighting of the internal main deck is defined as follows:
- lights on ceiling with controls close to the exits;
- lights on ceiling in the dining area with controls located in various places;
- 220V plugs.

? Lighting of the external main deck and fly bridge is done through watertight
lamps.

? Voltmeters, ammeters and frequency meters on main panel for 220V system
control;
? Switches on main panel to connect/disconnect shoreplugs and generator;
? Lights on wheelhouse touch screen for generator overload;
? Control on main panel for generator starter;

? Portable extinguishers with powder and/or CO2 in all areas of the yacht.
? CO2 centralized fire extinguishing system inengine room activated with
handle placed in the aft cockpit.
? Handle to activate the shut off venting ducts in engine room and day tank
valves.
? Switch in the entrance for control room to shut off the electrical pump of
fuel and the electrical extractors. Sea water fire hose

FUEL SYSTEM

? Three structural GRP tanks placed in engine room: total capacity: 2.400 lt.
? Each tank is provided with copper breather pipe and electric sensor for
level monitoring.
? Fuel level is visible on wheelhouse console for both tanks.
? Fuel filling operation is carried out on stern.
? Reversible 24V pump for fuel transferring between tanks.
? Pump controls on electrical panels of engine room and wheelhouse.
? Emergency manual pump.
? Double Racor filters for the pipe that connects day tank and engines.
? Single Racor filter for generators.AISI 316, copper or rubber flameproof
piping.

FRESH WATER SYSTEM

? System can be fed both by structural tank placed midship with a capacity of
760 lt.(201 gal) and shore connection.
? Plug for the shore connection on aft transom.
? 24 V electrical pump, positioned in engine room and with 17 lt./min. max.
flow rate, 220 V. Electrical pump with 25 lt./min., pump water from
structural tank to all users: washbasins, sinks, showers, electrical
appliances, and aft platform shower.
? WC system working with fresh water.
? Water heater with capacity 80 lt. (21 gals).
? Copper piping.

BLACK AND GRAY WATER SYSTEM

? One structural gray water tank (650 liters ?171 gals.) located bow to
collect showers, sinks, washbasins, appliances and fancoils discharge.
? Electrical level connected to electric pump placed close to the tanks with
25 lt./min. max. flow rate. The pump works both automatically and manually.
In the firstcase a timer guarantees the total emptying of the tank
overboard. The pump control is inthe wheelhouse console.
? WC discharges are piped, under pressure, into the black water tank located
bow (650 liters? 171 gals.) Black water tank can discharge either outboard
or ashore by means of anautomatic/manual electric pump (24 V). The pump
control is placed in the wheelhouse console.
? Master head, starboard guest cabin and crew cabin WCs can discharge
overboard directly too.

SEA WATER SYSTEM

? Four main bronze sea water intakes with valve and filter: two for general
utilities and one for each main engine.
? Firefighting, air conditioning and generators cooling system electric
pumps are connected to the two sea water intakes for general utilities.
? Part of main engines cooling water is used to cool gear box and raisers for
gas discharges.
? AISI 316 steel, 3 mm thick piping. Copper piping in case of diameter less
than ½?.
? Sea water fire system with electric pump, 220V, 125 lt./min. (33 gals./min.)
max. flow rate, placed in engine room and connected to two main deck hoses
(bow and stern). The pump control is positioned on wheelhouse console,
electrical panel in engine room, close to anchor winch and in the recess of
the staircase to engine room.
? Chain washing with sea water supplied by the same pump of firefighting
system.

MAIN ENGINES EXHAUSTS

? AISI 316 exhaust piping, built according to engines manufacturer
prescriptions.
? Underwater level exhaust discharge through structural GRP piping, shaped to
help gas
? outlet.
? AISI 316 Raiser for gas cooling with sea water.
? By-pass for gas outlet piping in case of low speed.

AIR CONDITIONING, VENTING AND EXTRACTOR SYSTEM

? Air conditioning 55,000 B.T.U. - direct expansion.
? Compressor groups placed in each cabin and saloon.
? Fancoils spread all over the yacht, with SMX controls in saloon, wheelhouse,
master cabin, and VIP cabin and crew quarter. Galley and guest twins cabins
have blower controls.
? Electric extractor (24 V d.c.) for each head.
? Engine room venting system through two electric fans (220V) and two electric
? extractors (220 V) in order to guarantee good air circulation
? AIR MIST ELIMINATOR to avoid water to enter into the engine room.
? Air inlet ducts are on both sides of the superstructure.
? Air outlet ducts are on both sides of the hull.

ELECTRO-HYDRAULIC SYSTEM

? Three electro-hydraulic units in control room and aft peak for rudders,
gangway, winch for tender. Each of these is 24V with own tank and own
circuit.

INSULATION

? Ceiling, sides and bulkheads of engine room are completely insulated with
absorbent, soundproofing and heat insulated materials.
? Venting and extracting ducts are insulated.
? Heat insulation of the superstructure through ROCKWOOL COATING.
? Main engine discharging ducts are insulated through ceramic composite
materials.
