This Hanson designed US Forest Service scaler's boat, is a design that historically was used in work around Puget Sound logjams. At 28ft this vessel makes an ideal cruising vessel.
The project started in the spring of 2013 , as part of the school's Traditional Large Craft program, and the students under instructor guidance have completed the boat's keel, stem transom, steam bent oak framesand planking. Final completion is set for September 2015.It is planned that the propulsion will be a 54hp Yanmar giving a cruising speed of approximately 7.5 knots.
