The NW55 is blue ocean cruiser design for fast, comfortable and sort handling sailing. There are different options allowing configuring the boat more as a cruiser or more as a racer.
A huge work has been carried on the hull shape and appendages, the deck layout and the interior, to respect the three main goals : speed, comfort and easiness.
Designed by D3 Applied Technology, there are two sets of appendages possible and inter-changeable : conventional daggers or foils. The hull shape comes from the latest evolutions in multihull design, and is proven design (A Class championship). See the winners position 2015 champiosihp.
The two helms, located on the deck, guarantee protection and perfect visibility. All the control lines can come back hidden under deck to the helm and the crew can sit altogether sailing. A full press button option for the hardware is available.
The boat is infused from glass fibers and vinylester resin with carbon reinforcements as standard or can be built from full carbon fibers and epoxy resin, for those looking at savings weight.
The saloon offers a 360° view and can be fully open to the cockpit, which can include comfortable options like barbecue or fish cleaning table. All furniture are modern in style and in construction, using sandwich and fitting smartly with the structure of the boat to reduce weight without reducing comfort and top finish quality
The sail plan features a square top fully battened mainsail, a self-tacking jib and the foresails of your choice, even though we have our advice to share. It is well fractioned with the mast at the middle of the boat length, for easy handling, quick tacking and balance.
The NW55 project is carried by North Wind Yachts, a long established monohull manufacturer, builder of the most sophisticated blue water cruisers in Shout Europe with more than 40 Year of boatbulding experiences and turning to the multihull market, NW put together a team of multihull specialists, mixing experience and fresh blood.
