"Capriccio" is a classic gaff-rigged yacht from 1912. She is mostly original and has a counter stern, pretty lines and curved teak coaming and cabin top. Her present owner purchased in 1995 and tells us she has been maintained in excellent condition every year by her owner and by Alan Williams (shipwright) of St Osyth. Surveys and photographs for all work completed are available. She has won OGA East Coast races and the Maldon rally twice, also the Paddy Hare trophy as "most elegant classic yacht" in the 2015 West Mersea regatta.
Previously owned by Crispin Thomas and his father, architect, Brian Thomas, renamed from the original "Wendy", her full history from 1912 has been detailed. She was originally built for the yard owner Mr Sinden.
Her owner has fitted new saloon bunks with teak sides, new oak floor boards and cooker/shelving in the past 5 years. The forward hinged bunks have been removed by could be reinstalled for 2 children.
"Capriccio" has often been admired and has given much sailing pleasure over the years. Her owner has every confidence this fine yacht will provide the same for her new owner.
