Prettiest Boat in the Bay!
1945 Quincy Adams 17 (27' LWL) - PLUM. Fully restored by IYRS Boatbuilding and Restoration Class of 2014.
Designed by Fred Goeller, the Quincy Adams 17 was chosen by the Fisher's Island Yacht Club for its first post-war class boat. They are wonderful on the race course and as weekend cruisers. In the 60's and 70's, a small fleet of these little yachts were also raced at the Thames Yacht Club. Their part in history is stamped at the New York Yacht Club with a half-model in the club's trophy room. An avid sailor wrote, " They sail great, would easily beat an Ensign, even on corrected PHRF time and are not much slower than the venerable Shields class." A beautiful head-turner in any harbor!
