Spits Luxe Woonboot 40m, "Orthoboot" Orthoboot is one of the last Spits built in Belgium and started her career transporting sand and grain between Antwerp and Paris. She did this under the name Mi-Amor and always with the first owner/skipper, Henri De Pauw. Henri sold the ship to the current owner in 2002. Between 2002 and 2012, according to the rules of the art, the ship was completely converted at a shipyard in order to achieve an extremely solid and sustainable end result. The boat was converted into a luxury houseboat and during her "second life" served as a practice for the renowned Orthopedist, Dr. Peter Roosen, hence the name "Orthoboot". In addition to practice she was also used for congresses, meetings and training courses. The possibilities and possible destinations are too numerous to name. For example, she can continue as a doctor's practice, or as a restaurant, office, B&B or beautiful residence or second home. All this without having to do costly adaptations. The luxury you find inside this houseboat is incredible, and would make even the most luxurious appartments jealous. BERTH PLACE - Current berth, non-commercial use of the boat €700/year - Current berth, commercial use of the boat €3500/year - Berth in Nieuwpoort in the port €4150/year, outside the port on canal (similar to current berth) €1200/year - Boat can move with surprising ease so you can move it every year. With a large general sailing license you can sail with it, otherwise skipper are plenty. The benefit of a houseboat is that the buying price is the final price: no extra VAT, no notary fees, no registration fees. Get all the benefits of a house and a ship.
