The RAINBOW CHASER is fully equipped to find and recover lost treasure. Two aluminum blowers can be lowered from the vessel's stern, over the propellers. When the boat is anchored and the engines running, the downward thrust of the prop wash blows a hole in the sea floor, uncovering artifacts buried by centuries of sediment.
This is a working piece of Florida History that was involved in some of the most storied treasure hunting in American history. She would be an excellent platform to continue marine archaeology, or convert to a spacious, bullet proof liveaboard yacht, or a ideal charter vessel for diving, fishing or cruising.
HISTORY
The boat was originally designed to patrol the rivers in Vietnam. Ken White, owner of White's Electronics (manufacturers of Whites metal detectors), transformed this armor plated military green machine into a research vessel, fully equipped to find and recover lost treasure.
Ken's love of treasure hunting and diving led him to Florida's Gold Coast where he started wreck diving in search of the legendary Spanish fleet that sank in 1715.
Working with Mel Fisher in the 80s and 90s, Captain White and crew recovered hundreds of valuable coins and artifacts, including the most sought after gold escudos. They also unearthed pieces of eight, pottery, swords and even a coral-encrusted flintlock pistol, still loaded!
