The Yankee 30 is a beautiful sailboat, designed by Sparkman & Stephens (S&S design No. 1999) and originally built by Yankee Yachts in California. The yacht is well suited to both racing and cruising, with a tall keel-stepped-tapered mast and high aspect sail plan to improve light air performance, high ballast to displacement ratio to make them stiff and dry to weather, and a bustle and skeg-mounted rudder for ideal handling off the wind. Unlike highly engineered racing boats, the Yankee 30 is somewhat overbuilt. As a result she's a very sturdy boat. Stability and an easy motion, whether sailing short-handed or with a crew make the Yankee 30 an ideal boat on off-shore passages.
This boat had a full extensive Awl-Grip repaint in 2003 from the boot top to the gunwale, including all new teak on deck. The decks have had some core work.
She has been well maintained and is in original outfitted condition vs many heavily modified and add additional equipment. This boat has a new main sail (2 seasons) and a new storm jib, and 2 new spinnakers all 1 season use (They were used on pre mac trials and the Mac race once) All the hardware, sheets, tackle and poles are included. Interior cushions are new (three seasons) and foam is open core. New spreaders were just made and refurbished the spreader lights.
