"Regarding our knowledge of Believe’s history, we will share what we know. We had been happily cruising the Sea and the mainland in our Tartan 34C -EverGleam-for a number of years. We spotted the listing at La Paz Yachts and had to investigate. I already knew quite a bit about Fast Passage sailboats from reading, research and experience and had always hoped to own one. La Paz Yachts was great to deal with and helped make purchasing the Fast Passage a reality. The larger boat made cruising so much more comfortable and my wife felt safe, secure and much more “at home”. The motion of Believe in all conditions is optimum, and the layout could not be more livable and useful. We both have plenty of space when on the boat together. We particularly appreciate the location of the Nav. Station, galley and head for overnight passages. It allows the off watch person to rest without disturbance.
We didn’t personally meet the previous owners, however we are aware they had taken the boat through the Panama Canal. It was sensibly equipped for ocean crossing when we purchased it. Since we have owned it we have spent 6 months every season traveling from Guaymas to the mainland, as far south as Barre de Navidad. From our experience with Believe we couldn’t be more satisfied and pleased with its sailing performance, Sea kindly motion and wonderful livability below decks.
We bought Believe in 2014 for $80,000. We have put approximately $40,000 into the boat with upgrades (new sails, fridge, dinghies, etc.). When we bought the boat we knew it was “for a season”. I am 68 with physical issues that will limit how far into my 70’s I will be comfortable cruising. It usually takes a year or two to sell a boat, so we listed Believe while we still are enjoying cruising and plan to continue cruising until a new buyer takes over. We also have an aging parent we love and feel a responsibility to be close."
