History

Built in Taiwan by Kha Shing boatyard, which is now owned by Monte Fino. Merlot was purchased by her current owner 2 years ago, from a Scandinavian boater who used it as a weekend fishing boat. 

In 2018, Merlot underwent a total refit to the interior; remodeling of the fly bridge was also undertaken, including a full repaint of the boat and upgrade to electronics and equipment. 

Large open spaces were also added to make it suitable and comfortable for parties up to 20-25 passengers. 

What Merlot is good for

Merlot a great boat for day charter groups who want to explore islands, fish, snorkel or conduct weekend parties; it can also function as a live aboard boat for a single person, a couple, or a small family. 

The contemporary style makes Merlot a fantastic boat for large groups of people. The boat is at its best when used for day charter operations or for overnight travels.

Special Features

Merlot’s primary special feature is how it was refitted. The current owner took a lot of time to carefully and sensitively upgrade the boat, similar to how an artist gracefully respects his painting.

The large sun lounging area on the bow is excellent for those who want to relax and bathe under the sun while out on the open waters.

In terms of its capacity, Merlot boasts an incredible amount of seating for its size. This means excellent seating for a large group while still providing comfort and convenience.

Speaking of Merlot’s teak flooring, the boat boasts having wonderfully-crafted teak flooring from the bow to the stern. This makes it easy for passengers to walk throughout the boat convenient and easy.

The flybridge features a fiberglass hard top which covers all of the section, which gives good shade for the passengers and crew. The flooring is also made out of teak wood.

Finally, Merlot features a good electronics package, making it modernized in spite of its age.
