1983 Cape Dory 31 Cutter

Another Carl Alberg beauty, this is the typical full keel with attached rudder cruising vessel that reeks of quality and good looks in a traditional manner. The 31 share the same proud reputation of the other 400+ full keel yachts (from 19’ to 45’) built by Andy Vavalotis of Cape Dory fame. This is the ideal size for a couple, but she can be easily single handed and will accommodate sleeping for a crew or family of five in two cabins. The classic look of the Cape Dory is the lavish use of teak inside and out, bronze hardware and comfort on the deck or below. Her self-bailing cockpit is T-shaped to accommodate the 28” wheel. With no quarter berths, there are generous cockpit lockers port and starboard.  The modestly raised trunk cabin has 9 bronze opening ports and two sturdy deck hatches (all with screens) for cross ventilation on those warm days on the water. Below there is a double forepeak and in the main salon, tow settee berths – one of which can be converted into a double.  A bi-leaf table sits on the centerline. The double SS sink, top loading ice box/refrigerator, and gimbaled stove and oven are neatly set in an L-shaped arrangement for efficiency.  The head and vanity is quite spacious and there is a teak grate leading to the shower sump pump with a lift up shower seat over the head itself.  It’s a lovely boat with tons of new gear that has been well cared for. The owner is 79, has lost his wife & is now enjoying motoring on the highway more than sailing. This boat is ready to sail with just about everything you’d want on your boat.
