Cockpit, Deck and Hull
Capital Yachts designed their Tartan 31 with sailing foremost in mind. The standard keel, rig and deck are designed for maximum performance and comfort for this yacht. The T-shaped cockpit, wide side decks and open foredeck allow easy movement around the vessel. Most of the control lines are led aft to the cockpit through sheet stoppers for efficient use. The current owners elected to raise the bimini for even better access. They determined that there was a sufficient gap at the masthead to allow the boom to be raised a tad and provide better standing headroom in the cockpit without having to modify the sail.
