Owner Notes
Bottom: Scrub bottom with Interlux Solvent wash then 3 coats of Interlux Interprotect 2000, alternating white and grey finishing with two coats of Interlux Micron Extra, the first coat applied while the Interprotect was still tacky.
Tankage: Both of the aluminum holding and fuel tanks were removed and replaced with custom welded polypropylene tanks by Triple M Plastic Products, West Kennebunk, ME. By using custom tanks we were able to closely maintain the original tank capacities.
Head and sanitation hose: The head was replaced with the highly recommended Raritan PHII head and Sealand Odorsafe discharge hose. Discharge piping system has separate dockside discharge hose to the deck plate and overboard discharge hose with one shut off valve at the tank and a second at the discharge through hull fitting. A new macerator pump was installed. The overboard discharge has never been used and as the pump is isolated from the waste by the two valves, it is in as new condition.
Mast: With the mast removed we were able to replace all wiring, the mast head light (Hella LED) and the steaming/deck light (Hella0, new Metz vhf antenna, Ancor tinned copper marine RG59U coaxial cable, a new Raymarine mast head wind speed and direction transducer and a new Windex. The standing rigging was also inspected by a surveyor. Ancor, marine grade tin coated wiring was used for all replaced wiring throughout the boat. Mast head sheves were replaced with the original manufacture’s new old stock
Instruments: The depth, speed and wind instruments were replaced with Raymarine instruments which were compatible with the existing Raymarine Plot charter. The GPS sensor was also replaced. The autopilot was not replaced at that time nor was the Raymarine Chart Plotter.
Engine, Shaft, Prop: Based on Yanmar recommendations the engine mounts were replaced, the water pump impeller had been replaced prior to our departure from New Jersey. It has been replaced since then as a preventative maintenance item. The shaft was removed and sent out for checking/straightening, the folding prop was sent back to Martec for service, new cutlass bearing installed and the stuffing box and shaft log hose replaced and new proper hose clams installed. After launching the shaft/engine were aligned by the mechanic at Ferry Point. New Teleflex Tfxtreme throttle and shift control cables installed.
Fuel lines: Along with the new fuel tank, new fuel lines were installed both fill and supply lines. In addition the original (small) in line fuel filter was replace by a Racor 500 Turbine fuel filter with shut off valves on inlet and out let to facilitate filter change.
Electrical: Wiring was replaced as needed using Ancor Marine rated tin coated wire. A new bonding ground system was installed. Pull cords were left in place to facilitate future changes in wiring.
Hull: Prior to launching in 2010 the hull, topsides were compounded and buffed per recommendations and waxed with Collinite’s Fleet Pastwax and wax each spring with Collinite’s past wax or Collinite 970 liquid cleaner / wax.
In 2012 a pair of Garhauer Davits were installed.
In 2017 a pair of used secondary winches were installed, to ease trimming by the helmsman.
In 2018 three new Trojan batteries were installed.
In 2019 the main sail (original) was sent to Sail Care for overhaul, washing and resizing. The 135 fore sail was replace in 2006, built by John Eggers, Inc, South Amboy, NJ
In 2019 Aft boarding ladder was repaired and reinstalled.
